• To handle/support regulatory approvals & clearances for pipeline projects under NPR & new claims support and understanding and building knowledge on new country regulations.
• Support in handling queries from all export and emerging markets.
• Supporting Regulatory Compliance of products - in pipeline for projects under NPR, International support, OI and BD activities besides newer claims support.
• Supporting work on advocacy in external regulatory environment as well as technical support for both external advocacy and internal implementation which this role will provide both in India and other countries.
• Role holder will need to do extensive research on international best practices in the regulatory front to be able to support the new product pipeline and generate support for raw materials, new product formats, regulatory classifications of formulations, justifications for new materials.
• Will have to eventually work with team members as an expert in the areas of food regulations specifically Indian regulations and basic knowledge of key international regulations especially CODEX, so that he/she can create scenarios and highlight issues / concerns to manager as well as project teams for go or no go areas from a regulatory perspective, at every stage of the product development life-cycle.
• Working knowledge on PFA/FSSAI, CODEX and other national /international regulations. Preferred experience in dealing with regulatory affairs like review of raw material, formula evaluation as well as familiarity with current domestic issues on regulations, especially in areas of labelling, additives, nutrition is a must.
• The role will require understanding of the Food Laws in India and working knowledge of Codex guidelines and should be able to search the regulatory websites of other major countries like US, UK ANZ, Canada, and Malaysia.
• The incumbent would have to mould himself/herself in to having a local as well as global view on external regulatory environment, coupled with a strong consumer perspective and the current system of approvals and processes that exist in India and the world for/within food regulations.
• This knowledge will then be translated into providing solutions/ guidance to project teams and products that require basic regulatory compliance as well as business solutions for enabling new products research towards launch.
