• The incumbent supports and contributes to the efforts of the U.S. Consulate General Hyderabad Public Affairs Section to promote Mission strategic goals by disseminating information and engaging the general public through the Consulate website, social and new media such as Facebook, You Tube and Twitter and through mobile technology, including SMS. The incumbent should devise long-term strategies to use social media and mobile technology to support Public Diplomacy objectives. • As webmaster for the Consulate, the incumbent maintains an up-to-date website to include activities of the Ambassador and Consul General, USG visitors, Consular information, reports of Consulate and Public Affairs Section activities and articles and information on American culture, society and politics. The incumbent should be able to suggest creative ways to broaden online audience for the Consulate, including vernacular language postings. • To support PAS requests for information, the incumbent uses the Internet to find information quickly and to monitor content of selected websites for information useful to the Consulate’s understanding of political and cultural trends. •Assists Information Specialist in outreach to the media, including organizing press conferences, arranging interviews for visiting U.S. government principals and drafting and disseminating press releases and other related materials.
